Because of its mild slope and direct road, many people prefer Marangu as the simplest path on the mountain. However, due to the route’s short duration, altitude acclimatization is difficult. Mount Kilimanjaro is approached from the southeast. Because the ascent and descent are on the same trail, Marangu is less picturesque than the other routes.
